Q. James bespoke opened for business with just a single client in August 2004, by then twenty four year old head designer, Mike McCauley.  Named for Mike's two sons, Quentin and James, Q. James’ primary focus has been to produce an artisan-quality garment that bridges the gap between the world’s finest craftsmanship of bespoke tailoring with the sophistication and style of high fashion.  Mike has been lauded as one of the brightest young designers in the menswear market today for his forward thinking of trends in menswear, precise attention to detail and his unwavering belief in creating a piece of luxury with each garment.  Prior to starting Q. James, during his junior year at New York University, Mike began almost four years of working and apprenticing with one of the country’s leading custom tailors in Beverly Hills, CA.
